News from the week |
||
Start of this week I have been patrolling the area trying to be as visible as possible. I have also been involved in an Anti Social Behaviour meeting trying to work with different agencies to crack down on issues in the area. The best way to deal with these issues is to get multiple agencies all on the same wave length and sharing information. Please let us know if you have any information about anti social behaviour or drug use in the area. Good news story, The Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park safer neighbourhood team have been involved in an address that was being cuckooed. The vulnerable home owner had lost control of their own home and were living on the streets using alcohol and drugs. With the teams engagement they now have there home back, feeling safe and cutting out the drugs and alcohol. They have found a job and feeling much better. This is a situation that no one should go through and I’m happy we have managed to get involved and make things better. Please let us know if you think a vulnerable person in your area is suffering or needs help. Sometimes they can’t call themselves! Don’t just think they are an “annoying” drug user, who doesn’t work and has visitors all the time. Report it, don’t keep it to yourselves, they might be a victim.
At the start of my working week, Whilst patrolling, on foot, I have seen a vehicle driving dangerously in the area. I have witnessed this reckless driving and began to compile evidence. This has ended with great work from our road policing team, on Friday 12th SEPTEMBER. They stopped this vehicle after it made off from them. With brilliant training, quick thinking and planning they managed to sting the vehicle and catch the driver. #Workingtogether #RoadPolicing On Friday 12th whilst the road traffic team were busy with the car, I was helping out with another brilliant operation in STOURPORT by the safer neighbourhood team over there. Two people arrested and drugs seized. We managed to seize drugs preventing it from making it onto the streets. This is how information passed to police by public, along with great police work can lead to our safer street. Please report any information you have to police, safer neighbourhood team or anonymously through crime stoppers. ofpsp.snt@westmercia.police.uk BE AWARE Please be aware of rogue traders in the area, we have had some reports around Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park. Be careful of people knocking on your door and offering work on your house. Don’t get rushed or pressured into having work done. If they offer a low price but need you need to have the work done straight away, I suggest this is because they don’t want you to check the “company” out. Use companies and traders you trust any check reviews from people who have used them before. Get a quote and invoice, don’t pay in advance. If you are feeling intimidated or being pressured into paying more than quoted you can call police at the time. If you are aware or have information about rogue traders you can report this to trading standards. Reporting to Trading Standards - Citizens Advice

I will also be available for a chat if you want. Neighbourhood Matters Sign up day Costa, Silverwoods Way, Kidderminster at 08:15 hours until 08:45 hours Kidderminster Hospital at 12:00 hours until 13:00 hours (Timings can change, I can stay longer if the crowds keep pouring in or if I know people want to come and speak. So a few fun facts for you about today: Taking another national day from our friends overseas, it is National Sober Day today. Maybe use this time to think about how much alcohol you are drinking and how this can effect your work, family and health. Get support - Alcohol and Drug Support | Addiction Services | Cranstoun On a different note it is also rumoured around the internet about it being National Parents Day Off today. This might not link in very well with national sober day 😊. Maybe use this day to play board games with the family. A much loved pastime by myself and as the weather is so bad.
Stay safe and I will see you all again on Thursday 18th September 2025. (unless you see me helping out in Kidderminster Town on 15/09/2025). | ||
